Question

Quick Fields Server SQL Configuration

asked on March 27, 2019

I am trying to configure the Quick Fields Server, and when I get to the point of defining the SQL database and selecting the user, I get the following message:

"Quick Fields Server Configuration Utility Encountered an Error while trying to create the Quick Fields database: CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'"

The database was created prior to running the utility, and the account running the service is setup as the db owner. If I click through that screen, the QF server starts, but the Admin Utility shows the following:

"The Quick Fields Server returned the following error: An error has occurred. (HTTP status 500) [QF1001]"

Any ideas?

Turns out the Service account (which was being used to run the utility) needed to have DBCreate, even though the database was created previously. Once I granted DB create to the service account, I reinstalled QF server and it worked as expected.

Hi Christian,

Try with  sql authentication (user database), maybe with the windows user you are trying to connect you do not have permissions.

Marco.
