Question

Avante and LFDS Licensing

asked on February 27, 2019

Hi All,

Quick question....

If the customer has 2 repositories, and they want to have users which can login to both repositories, on Rio that would be perfectly straight forward, they are licensed in LFDS and all is well.

For Avante however, tradionally they are a repository named user, and in this instance the user would need a license for each repsitory in order to log into both.

Now that LFDS is available for Avante, can the Rio method be used to license users, in that a single licensed user can access multiple repositories on Avante? In my head this seems perfectly feasible, but just want confirmation before I go back to the customer with a plan to set this up.

Cheers!

Yes. That's, in fact, one of the main use cases of the new repository to Laserfiche directory user migration utility! To help facilitate that.

Note that Laserfiche Avante system with multiple Laserfiche Servers (not repositories) will still need to be licensed separately.

Awesome thanks Justin. I thought as much.

How do we go about requesting an Avante lfds license?

You don't need to! Laserfiche Avante master license keys can now be generated through the support site for all current customers.
