license purchase

Could someone explain how new licenses are purchased?  When we go though our VAR to purchase new Laserfiche licenses it seems to take a week for them to receive the license keys.  Could someone explain why it takes so long or the process on the Laserfiche side to process the purchase?

Hi Bill, 

 

Chris and Rene are correct, Laserfiche does process regular order requests within 24 - 48 hours.

Special Order Request may take a little longer since they are outside of our regular process.

Hi Bill,


I think you might want to speak to your VAR in more detail to find where the bottleneck is here, I wouldn't think a public forum such as this is the best place to hammer this out.

 

Having said that, when we request licenses from Laserfiche, they are usually processed within 24 hours.

I am not sure of this but the var need to get a quote,Laserfiche send to Var the Quote, after  the Var send the order to Laserfiche, Laserfiche process the order and send back to Var, Laserfiche publish the new key or update the existing key with the new addon in the support laserfiche portal.

Var will get the key and send it to you or telling you the key is available.

So the Var need to create the paperwork to get the quote and also do paperwork to order it. the order need to match the quote. after it is Laserfiche that will review the order and create or modify key for a Customer, and return the information to the vendor telling it is ready to use.

So yes that could do a week from the begining till the keys are available

Is it just me or does that seem like a long and convoluted process just to purchase something that other places can do online?  You figure once I sign the quote the process should be more streamlined and efficient.

You should maybe talk about this directly with your VAR, maybe they could give you a better answer
