Question

QuickFIelds. How to configure a session to separate QF stages.

asked on October 8, 2018

Hi, we are working on a demo for one of our customers it is not so complex and requiere a lot of forms identification, zonal ocr but that is not the problem...right now when we create a session and start to work with the documents all the processing is done by the scan user, the session, separation, ocr, etc are working fine but takes longer time to finish his work... in the recent presentations about the new version of the product it is mention that exist 4 stages during the procedure (Scanning, Verifying, Revising, Stroring) we thing we have understand the scanning and storing procedure but as we can see all is done in one step (scan)...how can we configure all the 4 steps independently...¿?

Where we can find/install this tool 'Laserfiche QuickFields Document Revision'...¿?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I recommend performing the initial scanning with Quick Fields (or Quick Fields Scanning) and then if you need a separate revision step, store to Laserfiche and then use the Laserfiche client for additional revision. You can store documents to a temporary folder, review them in the client, and then send them to their final destination once review is complete. This way, you can use workflow and other existing Laserfiche tools to configure and enforce the review steps and requirements you need.

A prototype of a separate module called Quick Fields Document Revision was previewed at a Laserfiche webinar in late 2015, but the idea went back to the drawing board in early 2016, largely due to internal research and customer feedback at Empower 2016. Allowing for a separate revision step after initial scanning is still a priority, but the idea of a totally separate module for it has been shelved in favor of a solution that's more fully integrated into the Laserfiche suite.

Tessa, thanks for your answer... thats what i was working on in the meantime  so as you recommend us we create a session just for the scan process so there is not processing of any kind there. So the user just send the images that then are stored in a temp LF folder... from there using a new session and the help of the QF agent it will take them and do the hard work (doc identification, ocr zones, etc...) but now we have a new problem... we check the option 'Process documents' in the advanced tab in the agent configuration so when it finished the processing step we can verify the result before move the documents to the new location but when the agent finish the source docs are deleted and we dont know where they gone...¿?
