Install of Laserfiche 10.3.1

Hi,

 

We are having several clients fail the installation of Laserfiche 10.3.1.  It appears that a prerequisite is failing, per the installation log.  We are getting the error "Failed to install Install Visual C++ Runtime 15 (x86) (vc_redist.x86.exe). Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel."

 

The clients that are successfully installing are also installing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (both x64 and x86_ 14.11.25325.  The clients that are failing appear to already have version 14.12.25810.  Will Laserfiche 10.3.1 work with the updated version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, and we can have the installation bypass the prerequisites?

Is there a way to bypass the prerequisites on a silent install?  We push the update out with SCCM.

Ran into this exact issue today. Maybe there will be an update to the installer to accept the higher version already installed.

any updates to this? I have run into multiple clients getting errors on install when they have newer versions of C++ already installed.

Hi Lucas, there is an 10.3.1 update coming out later this week or early next week for the Laserfiche Server and the Windows and web clients that will include a fix for this.

Hello Justin, I don't see any updated files for 10.3.1 on the support site. Do you have an updated release schedule? I got a call from another client experiencing this issue. Thanks.

Hi Lucas,

The main update to Laserfiche 10.3.1 (Server, Client, Web Client) has been released on the KB (https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1013996/list-of-changes-for-laserfiche-10-3-1-update-2) as of yesterday evening. This is the patch files to update an already deployed installation. New setup packages in the download center that both include these fixes for new installations and the updates to the installation itself to address this issue (in both these modules as well as others) will be available later this week.

The download packages have now been updated as well (and the above KB has been updated to include the SetupLf pre-requisite fix now that it's been deployed).
