Question

Question

Keep leading zero's in the Date Field with SnapShot?

asked on June 4, 2018

Hello,

We have a client that is wondering if there is a way to make SnapShot save template dates with 0's in the template? They'd like to use the same formatting as that they're using with Quick Fields and Import Agent, which is mm/dd/yyyy, but SnapShot removes the zero's, (m/d/yyyy.) For example, today's date would input as 06/0/4/2018, but SnapShot changes it to 6/4/2018. (See screenshots below.)

I would try the following:

Go to Administration Console > Metadata Management > Fields > Right click your Date field > Properties > Edit Format > Select Custom and enter dd/mm/yyyy

I'm not sure if this applies the constraint in Snapshot but I think it's worth a try.

Field formatting is for display purposes only.

Hi Miruna,

Thank you for the clarification, I was not aware of this.

Best,

Thanks for the reply. I did get some clarification from the user and if you see the second screenshot, the issue is regarding the token value of the date field in the document name.

Not sure if there's a way to update the global date field to be used in SnapShot, to allow this?

I did find another Answers post with a similar question as well.
