Has it always been like that or did this start happening recently? I would first check to see if the Laserfiche Full-Text Search and Indexing Service are running and make sure that you have a proper IFilter installed on the machine that these two services are installed on. If that still doesn't do the job, I would clear the indexing queue (if there's anything), and perform a re-index of your repository content.
