Version 5 to Version 10

Version 7 Version 10 Migration How To

What is the best way to attach volumes that were exported from version 5 to a version 10 system?  Is it necessary to first bring them up in a version that still used Btrieve or is there an easier way?

There doesn't appear to be a direct upgrade path from 5 to 10.  This answer from 2014 broadly outlines two potential paths.
