Question

Active Directory manager to forms

asked on April 19, 2018

Hello all,

is there a way to get the manager of the user from the active directory as default value in the forms ?

because we have the option to get the email and username from the active directory, so why not the manager too .

will it be available ?

Thank you.

Maher.

To get a manager in Forms, you should run a quick workflow using the Find Manager activity and then set a business process variable to use the result. To implement this, you can have the user submit an initial form to kick off the process, have the process run the WF to grab and set a manager variable, then assign a user task back to the initiator with the manager pre-populated.

Hello Jared,

Thanks for your reply!!

i know that i can use this method, but i was asking since the email and username already come from active directory so why not have the option also to the manager from the active directory along with other information.

will it be an addition option in upcoming forms version ?

Thanks.
