Question

process modeler diagram changed, Stages no longer displayed, elements re-positioned

asked on March 7, 2018

We have a working FORMS BP which we recently upgraded to 10.3 .  I had a captured "Process Image"  from version 10.2.1.246 taken for documentation purposes.  It looked like this:

The next time we looked at the Process Diagram for this same BP, it now looks like this:

What could cause such a drastic change in the layout on the process modeler?

in addition, when I attempt to use the "Download Process Image" button, I now get an error

"500 Laserfiche Forms Laserfiche Forms has encountered a problem.  The file you are trying to upload no longer exists."

This seems to indicate some sort of corruption of the process modeler diagram itself.

There is nothing in the Event Viewer that indicates a failed SAVE procedure.

No work was done on the Process Modeler Diagram itself.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this happen before?

Could you open a support case for this issue? It does look like an issue we addressed in the soon to be released 10.3.1. We would like to look at the process XML to see what is causing this behavior and see if the 10.3.1 upgrade will get the process back to the original state. I would recommend leaving the broken process as is for the time being and don't save it in Forms 10.3. A save may lock in the new positions as opposed to getting the old ones back.

Has there been an update to this yet? I implemented the latest hotfix here https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1014002/list-of-changes-for-laserfiche-forms-10-3-1-hotfix-1014002 and we get the same error as above when trying to download an image of the process diagram. https://www.screencast.com/t/AL6ycB6fnP

Jason, does the process look distorted as well? Or is the issue only when downloading the process?

To figure out what is wrong, we'll likely need you to open a support case so we can see the process XML.

It looks fine and we only get the error when downloading.

I think your error is actually different than the one mentioned in this thread. Please open a support case so we can get your process and investigate. My initial hunch is that the process is actually ok (unlike the one in the issue above), and there is some configuration issue with using the image generation server.
