Question

Forms Professional Licensing

asked on February 22, 2018 Show version history

I have 2 Laserfiche Forms servers.  One is for development and testing upgrades.  I have just updated the dev server to the latest version of Forms (10.3.0.975).  The Laserfiche support site indicates that we are licensed for Forms Professional.

However, when I upgrade the Forms server it is listed as Essentials in the Help...About.

Is there something that I need to do to flip the install over to Professional?  I want to make sure that this is sorted out before I touch our production server.

By default when you select the Rio license manager during the forms install, it selects the forms essentials option, you need to change the drop down during the install to forms professional. Or generate a license in LFDS for forms pro and paste this onto the forms server in C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Laserfiche Forms\Forms\bin\lf.licx

Hopet this helps!

Thanks for the info.  I think the problem is that I'm running an older version of Directory Server (10.0.0.270).  I'm not seeing any options for Forms Pro.  I guess I'll have to upgrade Directory Server and then poke around some more.  I've been hesitant to upgrade because I know some group mapping stuff might have changed and I don't want to disrupt our production server.  I'll have to find a good maintenance window.

Cool yeah, LFDS needs to be at the latest version in order to generate licenses for products under that version. If that makes sense wink

Good luck! yes

It's a bit weird.  I renewed my Master License and Directory Server says that I can install up to Forms 10.3.  I did install 10.3 on the Dev server while successfully activating against Directory Server.  However, Directory Server says that it is running Forms 10.2.  I'm sure a DS upgrade will fix the issue.  Thank again for the help.
