Question

How Laserfiche manage LDAP's group?

asked on February 14, 2018 Show version history

Hi all!

My client use LDAP to connect to Laserfiche.

1 Windows account = 1 licence, right?

But how Laserfiche manage LDAP's group?

1 Group (LDAP) = 1 licence?

Example : I have 2 users (LDAP) and 1 group (LDAP) with the same 2 users.

How many licences I need, 1, 2 or 3 ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Justin,

We found why we had 6 actives licences on 6 whereas we had 4 actives users.

Under Windows' account, we created users for tests then deleted them.

The deletion of the accounts has not been taken into Laserfiche.

Under "Peripherals and Named Users" we deleted the ghosts.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Olivier,

Licenses are allocated to unique members of the groups. Specifically, only the users actually have licenses allocated to them, groups are just a way to easily organize them. So the same users being in multiple groups will still only use one license each.

So in your case you need 2 licenses, 1 for each user.

Hi Justin,

thank you for your return.

I'm in trouble.

My customer have 1 Laserfiche's account (active)

3 groups

9 Windows' account (3 actived)

So If I followed you, I have 4 licences activated, right?

So why I have 6 / 6 ?

I'm not sure why it's showing as 6 users. You may want to open a support case so this specific scenario can be investigated.
