Question

Forms Participant - LDAP Config - UserPrincipalName instead of Email Attribute

asked on February 5, 2018

Hello,

So I've successfully set up the Forms LDAP config (as MS Active Directory) to bring in Authenticated Participants without needing to manually enter their information. I'd like to change which attribute it uses to create their username, however.

It appears that the default config is to pull from the "mail" attribute to assign the username, and I'd like to pull from the "sAMAccountName" attribute. Does anyone know how to do this?

There is currently not a way to change that setting.

Got it. Do you know of a way to notify users of the difference, or to have Full License (Named Users) use the same username convention?

Scott, Can you provide information on how you successfully configured the Forms LDAP config (as MS Active Directory) to bring in Authenticated Participants without needing to manually enter their information.

Brittany,

See the attached screenshots. I have the database server set up for the authentication method for Named Users, and then I have the Forms Authenticated Participants section set up using LDAP. The Named Users are generated using LDAP on the database, so it's basically just passing through the authentication for that server.

There's a "Configure LDAP" button in System Security > Participants, and my configuration is shown here. Once it synchronizes, you can then select the appropriate group and just allocate licenses to the entire group.
