Question

Question

how many users can sign under a group license simultaneously

asked on January 17, 2018

We utilize group licenses and have more than 3 users in each group, however, can more than 3 sign in under one group license at the same time?  Or can only 3 be signed in and the others get an error message?

Technically speaking, there is no such thing as a Group license, only user licenses. Each user license (if I remember correctly) can have up to 3 or 4 simultaneous connections. Because of that, some people create a generic user account that multiple people access, but that is not how the licenses are meant to be used.

Doing so can have other negative effects, such as auditing problems. Since different users all log into the system using the same account, there is no easy way of knowing who did what in the repository.

Okay, so we use these as more of a generic license and although I know it does create a audit problem these are only allowed in certain folders. i.e. one or two.

So is there a specific answer on how many can concurrently log in if we make this full license a "group" in our repository?
