Question

Laserfiche on Kubernetes?

asked on November 27, 2017 Show version history

We're trying to guide one of our customers through various deployment options. Is Laserfiche supported on Kubernetes nodes/clusters? Anyone have experience with that setup?

We haven't tried Kubernetes yet, but we currently have Laserfiche deployed in Docker containers for testing.

Hi Miruna,

Would you be able to supply some more info/links as to how you went about putting Laserfiche into Docker containers?

Please contribute to this post if you can:

Hi Ege,

Out of curiosity, is this customer using Azure's managed Kubernetes service, AKS?

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/aks/

In general, running Windows Server on K8s outside of Azure is something I'd be hesitant to recommend given K8s Windows support is still in an alpha release (might be beta as of 1.8).

Here's an article that provides a useful overview of limitations and issues you might encounter:

I am interested in hearing more about the use case though.

Cheers,

So Kubernetes in Azure is supported?

Negative. Laserfiche does not officially support containerized deployments, including on Kubernetes, as of version 10.4.3. We do not have any plans in the short term to add such support.
