Forms - Task Assignment Links for 2 Forms instances sharing database

asked on November 16, 2017

Client has two Forms servers, Internal & External that share the same Forms database. They also have the forms participant licenses which are assigned to certain individuals to be able to approve/reject Form tasks that are assigned to them.

When these individuals are within their network, they are able to click on the task notification links and successfully perform the task since it's directing them to the internal forms server.

But when they are outside the network, away from the office, they are unable to access the tasks via the links. However, when they use the external link, then they have access.

How do you configure Forms to use the external forms URL for sending out tasks to these individuals? What be the optimal set-up for this such that these individuals can easily executive their tasks regardless of which forms server they are routing through?

Hi Karim,

If you are using Forms 10.2.1 or above, you could try adding "FormsHostEmailOverride" option to cf_options, which can be used to define the Forms URL in user task notification, and change the URL to be the external URL.

However there is no way to control that some user receive the internal URL while some receive the external URL. All will be changed.

You could refer to the following posts on how to use it:
