Locked Out of Administrator Console, No User Licenses

asked on October 6, 2017

We had to move our LF database to a different server. Now no one can login to LaserFiche. I also cannot login to the LF administrator console with the set admin password. I've tried stopping LF server service and restarting. Everyone receives the 9030 error regarding reaching the maximum number of licensed sessions, even me as the administrator. But there are zero active sessions, so the license count must have gotten screwed up too.

How do I reset the admin password? How do I correct the license count if I cannot login to the admin console? Help!!!

When you say you had to move the "LF database", do you mean you moved the SQL database corresponding to the repository? If that's the case, did you detach the repository from the Laserfiche Server and then reattached it with the new SQL server information?

If you look at the server node in the Admin Console what does the "license" property list?

Truth be told, I actually performed a V2V migration from one VMWare host to another. In other words, the server hosting the SQL database didn't actually "move". I did not detach the repository ahead of time, as all files/services were supposed to be copied over exactly as-is during the migration.

The license property lists "LaserFiche Classic".

I'm determined to follow the migration procedures to move to a new server. But I cannot login to the admin console. How do I get around this?

Migrating a VM to a different host should be transparent to the application. But it looks like there might be something wrong with your license as our records list you have Laserfiche Avante. It's probably best that you contact your reseller and open a case with Tech Support for further investigation.

Thanks for your replies. I got on the phone with the Help Desk. Ricardo figured out that because of the dramatic "hardware" changes, the license file needed to be reactivated.
