Repository Syncronization - Offline Documents

asked on July 27, 2017 Show version history

Hi All,

Are there any plans in the pipeline for LF to offer a sync box style application similar to what dropbox or onedrive offer? Whereby users can access a central file store, and make changes on or offline which will then be synced next time it has connectivity? This would be to enable offline editing of large document sets with the relevant supporting documentation all available offline, which would be auto-synced when back online.

I know this is somewhat achievable through Laserfiche workflow by replicate entries etc, but to implement this in practice becomes a mammoth task of change management with multiple workflows and id's flying all over the place. You could also check out the documents, but again this is to a single person, therefore not allowing multiple people to edit the documents. Is there potentially an opportunity for an integration with onedrive here?

If the simple answer is no, then no worries but I need an answer!

Cheers!
