Hello, I've worked a little bit with our VAR to try to get Forms Essentials installed but I'm not having any luck. We are on RIO 10.2 and when I'be been told to go ahead an install the Forms option in the installation files but when I get to the licensing part of it it says that "The specified license block is invalid". I'm connecting to the directory server which has forms essentials listed in my applications list. I've renewed my master license multiple times with no success. I even went into the Directory Server, registered the instance with the computer I want to install Forms Essentials on and then downloaded the licx file to attempt the licensing that way but that didn't work either. Is there a separate download for Forms Essentials that I need? Please help!

Hi Shane,

It looks like you were using Forms 10.2 installer. Forms Essentials is only supported in version 10.2.1 or later.

Your license should be fine since you mentioned that Forms Essentials was in your LFDS application list. You can try download Laserfiche Rio 10.2.1 and install Forms from there.

Hi Shane,

be sure to put the license generate by the laserfiche directory service to the proper forms application folder, also be sure when you generate the licence in laserfiche directory service to get the proper fingerprint for the forms server

You can also license the Forms application at the installation phase, and when the installer app asked you hoe to license the forms app, choose using laserfiche directory service. that will automatically genereate the license key and register your forms server into the lf directory service

Hi Rene, thank you for the response. I'm not able to put the licensing file into the forms directory because it doesn't exist yet. I haven't been able to license the application to install it. As for the directory service, I've tried that route and it doesn't work. I've renewed the master license and restarted the server and I get the same message. How can I confirm the fingerprint that I registered the instance to?

Hi Shane,

You must be running Laserfiche 10.2.1 in order to get the Forms Essentials. Also you have to update your master license (sucessfully) in order to generate a license for Forms Essentials. My assumption here is, that you are clicking the renew master license option in LFDS and it's not actually succeeding in the license update, which is why you are getting the invalid license block error. If I were you, I would download the latest version of Rio 10.2.1 and upgrade your LFDS as the first point, renew your master license and verify that you see Forms Essentials in the list of application blocks. Then try again.

Thank you Rufei, I've downloaded Rio 10.2.1. If our server is only at 10.2.0.839, am I able to install just Forms Essentials or do I have to upgrade the rest of the components first?
