Hi Jeff,

My issue was resolved within the firewall ports especially the outbound rules. Please check this post https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/148406/Directory-Server-and-LF-Server-on-different-Subnet#148444 for further clarification.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Larbi,

The title of this thread means that the LF Server is unable to communicate with the LFDS licensing server.

797 error usually relates to something anti-virus or firewall related betwen the LF server and client.

Check that you have connectivity between the 2 servers on the relevant LF ports (80, 5050 and 5051).

Hope this helps!

Dear Chris,

I am getting the same error whereas the ports are open. I was unable to lookup the server from the Directory Server. It gives the "Unable to get information for machine 'xxxxxxxxx'. (LFDS1000)" .

I also decided to reinstall the LF server and am able to register through the setup onto DS, but in the event viewer the error "Unable to successfully verify the product license registration with the Laserfiche license or directory server. Error: The license is now stale." is still posted and the Service stops after some time. PLease advise

Mark

Hi Mark,

This means that your LF server cannot communicate with the LFDS licensing server. LFDS to LF Server uses TCP ports 5048 & 5049 and UDP port 5049. Check they are open bidirectionally between the LF server and LFDS server.

Cheers!

Hi Douglas,

As I said up there, the ports are opened. That I am sure of.

Note that the ports for communication between LF server and client, and LF server and LFDS server are different. I'm assuming there are no issues with LFDS at the moment, can any other servers communicate sucessfully with LFDS? You can use telnet to confirm if the ports are indeed open. If you are still experiencing issues then I would suggest you raise a support case and LF can help you troubleshoot this further, but the error around the license being stale, will be related to a communication breakdown between the LF server and LFDS.

Good luck! smiley

Hi Chris,

I have three servers of which two of them are working fine but it's only that one server that is giving me this issue. Let me raise a support case for the same.

Regards.

I have a customer who had a similar issue happen over this past weekend.

Appreciate your time,
