Question

After moving LF server to a new VM host, only one user can log in at a time

asked on June 30, 2017

This is the error message that a 2nd user recieves when trying to login to the repository:

Log in failed because the number of sessions has reached the licensed limit, or the user account has reached its session limit, or no named user license has been allocated to the user account. [9030]

Seems like the repository is only seeing licences assigned specifically to the repository, and not the available licences in Rio for any repository, and this only started happening after moving the server VM to a new host server.

Hi Kaimana,

Have you re-licensed the server since the move? The HWFP will likely have changed, thus invalidating the license.

Cheers!

I deactivated the master license and renewed it using our activation key. Is there more to the process of re-licensing the server than that?

Yes, along with re-licensing License Manager or LFDS, you will also need to re-generate a server license.

To expand on what Chris posted, in a Rio system, the Laserfiche product licenses file have the LFDS information in them.  If you move LFDS to a new machine, you need to recreate the licenses for your products and replace the old licenses.  This will tell the products where to find the LFDS to both validate product and authenticate users.
