Office Integration Issues

asked on May 10, 2017 Show version history

Hello,

We have an install of the Office Integration on our computers in order to open and save files directly to Laserfiche using the web interface. We are running Windows 10 x64 with Office 2016 x86 (click to run version pointed to Office 365). On many machines we see the Office Integration plugin sporadically fail where it no longer shows in either Word or Excel. Usually switching the Load Behavior registry key from 0 back to 3 will fix this, but other times we need to reinstall the plugin and/or Office 2016. It is to the point where I have to do this daily for at least one of our users. Have many others seen this? If so, have you found any way to make the Office Integration more stable?

Thank you

We had this issue recently, and our IT gave me this info:

"Resolved, the issue was the add-in for excel got disabled.  Microsoft Office can do this on the odd occasion with third party add-ins.  Its fairly simple to re-enable (and is a separate process for each office program so if its disabled in one program check that program ie. Excel in this case)

File > Options > Add-ins > Manage > Com Add-Ins > Go"

The add-in went missing on Excel again after the first fix, so IT made this an Admin setting that locks it and we have had no issues since.  This is an old post that I found looking for something else, but thought I would add this info in case someone runs into it like we did.

Can you please check from task manager if Laserfiche.OfficeMonitor.exe is running? Besides, along with the LoadBehavior, there should be another Registry value SetValueByOP, which should always be 3.

Hello Jie,

The last time I saw this happen Laserfiche.OfficeMonitor.exe was running and both of these keys were set to 3. For example we have one user right now who can only open Word files from the web app if their Word is already opened. Any other suggestions on what could be causing this?

Hi David,

So far, I didn't have good suggestions. Please open a case for support and provide details of your issue for further troubleshooting. Thanks!

Hello Jie,

Is this the link for opening a case?

https://support.laserfiche.com/supportcases/creator

When I try to access it I get a message that I don't have access. Do you know why this may be?

Hi David, you should reach out to your reseller for further troubleshooting and to open a case, if it comes to that.
