Question

Email Approval Folder

asked on May 6, 2017

First, our email approvals work.  It's a great feature that we have used for awhile now.

What is not working is if we try to use a folder other than the Inbox to read the approvals from.   Ideally we would like to set up a folder 'Approvals' with a rule to move any approval replies to that folder and have Forms process replies from that folder.   This seems possible from the documentation.

When I configure a folder other than the Inbox it is still only the Inbox that is read, messages go from an unread status to a read state.   The folder that is configured is never read.   Using the test connection on the config page it returns a successful status when we have an existing folder configured.

Is it possible to use a folder other than the default Inbox?   If so what are we doing wrong or what else can we check?

We have tried root level folders and sub folders under the Inbox with the same results.   We can live using the Inbox but it would be nice to have a dedicated folder for this.

The replied email from the end users has to be in the Inbox folder directly, that is the limitation of the email approval feature. For the folder that the documentation refer to that is folder that contains the cross-referenced emails that are sent to the email approval account when send out the email approval notification to the end user at the same time.

You can check here for how does email approval works.
