Question

How to use a 'Save for later' option for external users?

asked on April 12, 2017 Show version history

Hi all,

I have a form whereby public users will fill in their application forms online. I want to have an option whereby the public users can save the form to later fill it. When the user access the form, all the information that he has put previously is already filled. Once the form is submitted, the approval process will start.

I have tried the below link and it has not worked for me.

Please advise on this can be achieved.

Hi Sheila,

We have many forms that the public is able to "Save as Draft" prior to submitting the form.

In your Process Diagram, open up the "Start"  Icon.

Then click "Save as Draft" on the top tab and edit the message.

I believe that is what you are trying to do.

Dave

Is this for the starting form or a secondary form after the initial submission?

Hi Blake,

It is the starting form.

Also, please note that these public users(for instance, external users) will be using a form portal license. Will the above option that Dave proposed still work?

Yes, the option Dave outlined above works for licensed and public users.

Hi,

I want to know whether it is possible to add a reminder to the public user after 1 week when the form has been saved as draft. After 2 weeks, the application form has expired and user is being notified accordingly.

Please advise.

It is currently not a built in feature. You could create a workflow to query the forms database where the draft data is saved an send emails that way though.

Hi Blake,

Can you please give me the tables that should be queried to retrieve this information? Can you please give me the logic for the workflow and I will require a token calculator to add days to it?

Any update on this? I have a customer that wants to see all the public drafts in the system. Thanks
