Question

Weblink integration with AD

asked on March 15, 2017 Show version history

Hi,

I will like to install Laserfiche Pilot portal so that all my internal readonly users (around 300) will access the Laserfiche repository through weblink within the company. I understand that there is a maximum number of 25 concurrent connections that are possible. I wanted to know:

1. If it is possible that these 300 users can use their windows credentials to login to weblink?

2. What happen if I have 25 users connected and I have a 26th user trying to connect?

3. What is the default idle time before a session is closed and if I can change this value as per my requirements?

4. With regards to Licensing, should the weblink server has the same number of CPUs as the repository?

Thank you and Regards,

Vimal

  1. Yes.  Those users need to be marked as read-only for them to use one of the concurrent licenses (instead of a named user license).
  2. They won't be able to log in and they will get a message about the maximum number of connections exceeded.
  3. The default session timeout is 20 minutes and this is configurable in the IIS administration tool.
  4. CPU count only matters for "unlimited" connections, and in that case it is the CPU count of the LFS server that is considered.  For licensing, it never matters how many CPUs are on the WebLink machine.
