Question

upgrade from 9 to 10.2

asked on March 9, 2017

Hi,

I have to upgrade a client from version 9.2.1.673 to 10.2. They below are installed on an app server:

  1. Laserfiche avante: one repository with 45 users
  2. Laserfiche worklfows: about 35 workflows are operational. Might have over 100 workflows in progress
  3. Import agent

SQL server is used as database, and is installed on a separate server.

Can anyone advise what upgrade approach is best for our scenario, In-place or Replace upgrade?

In case of a replace upgrade what happens to pending workflows? can we migrate the pending workflows from server version 9.2.. to 10.2?

Regards

There's no migration when upgrading Workflow from version 9 to version 10. When the services are shut down, any running workflows are saved to the database and resumed when the service restarts.

If by "replace upgrade" you mean uninstalling version 9 first and then installing version 10 as opposed to just running version 10 over version 9, then it also doesn't matter (since installing version 10 removes version 9).

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do an in-place upgrade to 10.2.
