Question

Can't verify publisher of 10.2 download

asked on February 21, 2017

Is anyone else getting an error when downloading the 10.2 update from the support site?  Since I knew the LF site is valid I went to my download folder.  What I found was that the icon looked wrong and the properties looked even more concerning.

Please advise as to whether this is valid or not, and if not, where I can get the correct LF RIO 10.2 download.  Thank you.

Oh, that. Yes, that's fine, we use 7-Zip to compress the installer, which adds its own copyright. It should've had a digital signature on the file (which the current Rio version up there does not). I'll look into how that happened.

Could you try downloading it through Firefox or Chrome?

Miruna,  I downloaded using Firefox and got the same results showing the 7z icon and the Igor Pavlov details in properties.  See the attached.

OK, so the copyright information is legitimately for the 7-Zip product used to package the installer?  That is helpful to know.  With recent ransomware attacks I was not going to try loading anything that didn't have some identifier as a Laserfiche product.

I appreciate you looking into why that identifier was missing.  Thanks.
