Question

Links to Help Files

asked on February 21, 2017

Hi All,

Can I make a request that we can add some links for help files to the support site somewhere? Currently the only way to get to the relevant help file is to launch the app and press F1.

Cheers!

We've recently added this to the home page under Support Resources :)

Which links to the KB article that Chris Ayre mentioned. Awesome! Just worded differently. Cheers!

I agree.  I have this KB article as a favorite as it seems to be updated all the time.  Doing a search for Help File or Current Online Help gives results from years ago and not this article..

The product help files are already on the Support site. After selecting a specific product, under the Quick Links section select 'See all'. You will then see a link labeled 'Current online Laserfiche Help Files'. I think it would be nice if they were available without having to click on the 'See all' link.

Ah yes, it is a bit buried isn't it?

The help files are actually really good, don't understand why they are so hidden! frown

Any chance of adding SDK to the on-line help?  Having trouble finding a single comprehensive documentation source for the .NET SDK object model.

Hi Jeff,

I think the idea behind the SDK, is you have to purchase the option in order to get the libraries and documentation. wink

Jeff, our records show that you have purchased the SDK. Did you install it? A copy of the documentation would be installed with it when you choose the "Laserfiche SDK Package" option.

Yes, I installed the SDK and found the SDK92_Documentation help file.  It provides some useful explanations and some tutorials/examples.  However, the .NET API Object Reference section does not contain any content (see attached image).  As such, I'm finding it difficult to see all the pieces and how they fit together.

Hm, there should be a LfSDKNet92.chm file in the same folder as the help file in your screenshot.

Have your reseller contact Tech Support. We can investigate what happened or just provide you with a copy of  the file.

File was there and I can view it's contents by opening it directly.  That helps greatly.  Thanks for the quick assistance.
