Question

client 9.1.1 not letting me login from any other station

asked on January 17, 2017

Previously, i could use my Windows User Account to log into Laserfiche from any station in the office.  As of late, i am always getting an 'incorrect password' error (the password is correct).  This is an issue as we have a shared station in our boardroom for presentations that all our licensed users should be able to log into Laserfiche to pull up and present documents as needed.

Why is this no longer working?

The machine needs to belong to the domain for windows authentication to work.

Hi Robert, it does - all the stations in our office belong to our Domain.  It's not just the one station in the board room..... I've tried multiple logins on multiple stations in the office that I've previously had no issue with and I'm getting the same error everywhere.  In reading similar posts, it looks like this is a glitch in this version that is corrected in future releases - what i'm wondering though, is why the glitch suddenly appeared for us after a year of use without ever encountering it?  I guess it's time to look at upgrading!

Are you using the "Use Windows Authentication" checkbox on the Windows client's start screen when trying to log in?

What if you uncheck that option, open the repository and manually type in your Windows credentials (domain\username and password) in the login prompt?

Hi Alexander, no I've unchecked the 'use windows authentication', then manually typed in my domain\username and password.  I am logged on to the station using a different username and password however (same domain) which seems to be the problem.

However, I have done this dozens of times in the past with no problems until recently.
