Quick Fields Error

asked on December 21, 2016

We are getting an error when we are trying to setup a new Quick Fields connection to our test repository. Does any one have any suggestions on how to fix this issue? I have attached a screen shot of the error message. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Have you checked to see if 'ServiceUser' is a named user? (see here)

Do you see multiple active connections for this user in the Laserfiche Admin Console? (see here)

Hey Tessa,

I am working with Kendall on this issue and he is out of the office today. This is a test repository and I believe when setting it up we only gave the repository two licenses. When attempting to update ServiceUser to a Full Repository Named User in the
Administration Console, we receive an error that the number of registered repository named users has reached its licensed limit. I can't remember where we need to make this change at. Can you please reference us to the documentation on how to make this change?

Thank You,

Zach Merrill

You'll need a new Laserfiche Server license with more named users. See this page of the help files for more information.

Thanks Tessa. I don't know if this is our issue. We have a total of 50 user licences and 7 are currently available. I believe there is an issue with the allocated licenses to our test repository. I am not sure where we can see or change this however.

Thanks Tessa. I first verified we have 7 spare user licenses in LFDS. I generate a new Server License for our LFTEST server and restarted the Laserfiche service. However, we are still receiving the licensing issue when trying to give a local repository user a full license in the administration console in our test repository. Is there not a way to check the user licenses allocated to a repository?

Thank you,

Zach Merrill

Please confirm the number of repository named allocated to your LFTEST server. You can see this when viewing the Laserfiche Server application in LFDS (as shown below)

When you generated a new license for the server, did you copy the new lf.licx file over to the Laserfiche Server installation directory (by default C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Server) and replace the old license with the new one prior to restarting the service?

Lastly, please check how many repository named users have already been configured on that server and confirm if you have any more licenses available to assign to other repository users. For example, you may have allocated 10 full repository named user licenses to the LFTEST server and have given 5 repository users the full license, leaving another 5 available to assign to other repository users as needed.

If there is still a discrepancy in this regard then please contact your Laserfiche reseller to open a support case. You may need to verify your LSAP status though.

Regards

Thank you Alexander. I see the problem which I overlooked previously. There are 0 full repository named users for our test repository and I missed the Advanced Options under Edit. Once I saw that, we were able to update the server license file and resolve our issues connecting to our test repository.

Thank You!
