Hi Nilo,

You need to Install SQL database Engine and SQL Management Studio on LFServer .

SQLEXPR_x64_ENU.exe (Database Engine - If 64 bit Machine)

SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe

It is free download and install from Microsoft Below Link.  (Download as per your Operating System of Server) . Hope this will be clear

Thanks Sufyan for the reply.

So you mean to say we still need to install the SQL database Engine on LF Server machine even though we already have a separate SQL server on a separate machine? is this redundant?

Isn't it as long as the two servers (LF Server & Datbase Engine) are on the same subnet or network, we do not need to install the MS SQL software on the LF server side?

Just want to make sure I will give a clear answers to my client.

Thanks

If you have already have a SQL server available, and your client is licensed to use the full SQL server, you do not need to install SQL server again.

The only SQL server component that must be installed on the Laserfiche Server machine is the SQL Server Native Client, which is included in the installation package for the Laserfiche Server and will be installed automatically, along with the other prerequisites:

No you do not need to install any SQL module on the LF server.

But what you need is the proper LAserfiche license. if you want to use a full SQL server database in place of SQL express. you need to buy the good LF license to use the full SQL.

If it is an Avante version, there is different LF based license and based on this that will determine which version of SQL you can use.
