Hi Helen,

Can you post the detailed exception trace? You can find it through the "Event Viewer" under the windows system where Forms server is installed. The Forms errors should be logged under Applications and Services Logs, LFForms session.

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/Forms/Content/Administration/Troubleshooting.htm?Highlight=LFForms

Thanks,

Ming

Hi Helen,

Can you also check the Event log and to see whether it's the same error? If not, can you provide the event log of this exception as well?

Thanks,

Ming

Ming,

And at the form The Employee's Profile ID drop list should only bring up one employee's profile since I choose one employee ID. It should not show the whole list First Names of this Manager at the First name drop down list  as attachment shows. And the employee ID is the primary Key in the table.  and the ManagerID is the Parameter of the stored procedures.

Thanks!

Helen

I tested the form again, when the form submitted to the correct repositories folder, the error message still shows up as the attachment shows:

Laserfiche Forms has encountered a problem.

An unexpected error has occurred. [LFF502-UnexpectedError]

Hi Helen,

This error seemed that it wasn't thrown from LFForms, it seems it's an issue when you deal with Kerberos, but Forms doesn't use it for authentication. So if you don't mind, can you try to not use any other software to extract the event logs, and to use the Windows default event viewer to provide me the details about the error only under LFForms session? Like this below, select the errors which come out when you submit the form, and the information under General tab is needed.

Regarding the employee profile, you may want to check the whether the output of the stored procedure is correct. If the employee information is stored in a table, you can just use the table for the lookup rule as well. Basic idea is to make the profile id as a condition, when it matches the key just fill the first name with the column first name. However, it really depends on your design, and I need more information (like what's the functionality of the stored procedure, which way do you prefer it to work) to further analyze this as well.

Thanks,

Ming

Sorry for not being clearly. The Event Viewer is Windows System built-in. You can just simply search, or go to Start -> Program -> Administration Tools -> Event Viewer. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996634(v=exchg.65).aspx

Thanks,

Ming

I checked my Windows Event Viewer (Local) , There is no LFForms existed under the Applications and services Logs .  Is it a permission issue, or something else?

I may not have permission to the Windows system log.  However, I user EventLog Analyzer to sort by Windows Event Log. Then got a report. please check the attachment.

Hi Helen,

You can open a support case by providing the exported process and some details to reproduce the issue. Then we can see what we can do.

Thanks,

Ming

Hi, Ming, so far my form works and processes good. However, I'd like to test the add comments on the evaluation form by more than one supervisor. I gave my Director the right as user. Submitter. However when he received the saved email and clicked the linked form logged in, but have error shows up, the forms either submitted or not existed. . . Where should I check it out? Or the saved email only for designer? How the Submitter check the forms and add comments in before submit?

Hi Helen,

It is unclear how the Unexpected Error message is manifesting; nevertheless for this kind of error, as Ming suggests, you should check the LFForms event log. Usually for this sort of thing the LFF502-UnexpectedError code is part of the message so you can try filtering based on that.

If the process is actually suspending at a step, a process or system admin can check the instance error log for more details as well. (attached image)

At this point you should reach out to your reseller for additional training and troubleshooting assistance. This is not an appropriate place for such in-depth troubleshooting. If your reseller is unable to identify a solution, then as Ming has suggested they can open a support case and we can look at the specific process, etc in greater detail.

Regards, and happy holidays!

Hi, Ming and James,

the LFF502 UnexpectError has been fixed. The form processed very good at my side. However,  when the forms saved to my supervisor's email (other than mine before submit), When He opened email, clicked the Form linkage and logged in, It shows the error " This form you're looking for cannot be found Either it has been submitted already or it has been removed" at my supervisor's account, although he has been added as user/ submitter.  And also,  both reasons are not true. I didn't submit the form and I can open the forms after sent the saved emails to his email. Need help please! Thanks! Helen

Merry Christmas!

Hi, Ming and James,

Thanks! My from works perfect on my side processing from start to the end.

 However, I found another issue.

Submitter could not open the form draft which the forms linkage was emailed to them by save it to their email.

Although the Access right already set for these Submitter, but they could not open the form which was emailed to. What may need to process? The forms at my process are alright.  Attached is submitter received LFError. Please advise me.

Thanks!

Happy Holiday!

Hi, Ming and Jam

So far , most of the from error bugs has been fixed.  my Laserfiche forms works well on my side. As the communication  testing, I didn't click the default Submit button to submit the unfinished form instead of click the default save as Draft button to send the form linkage to my boss's email.  However, When he received my email, he can not open the linked form, he recieved  error message as above . Then I send a published form to him, he can open it and filled the form and click the save as draft button sent the link back to my email,  when I open his form linkage, I recieved the same error message.  Looks the email communication is not work well,   whatever send from the process form or published form. I set the Access right to manager and director  as submitter,  and I made the Process Diagram let the 1st manager complete his comments the email to nest manager, until complete the form then submit it at the end.   However, the error message seems the first step ther form was already submitted, although  I only clicked the save as draft button.  If that is the button setting issue, how / where can I change the button's setting? If it is not the button setting problem, is that the email configuration problem? I know at the Access Right setting panel, there is no email field.

If it needs to be discuss individually, please email me the case application  linkage.  Thanks!

Hi Helen,

I'm assuming your form draft is saved from Message Start Event since it is the place that you can save a draft to an email address. The user who saved the form draft will be the only one who can access the draft in this case, regardless whether the process is published or not.

On the other hand, if the form draft is saved in a user task, when you try to reassign the task, it will provide you an option with either to keep the draft (as below picture). If the other user who got reassigned the task has admin rights, he/she will be able to view/modify/delete the draft. Otherwise, the other user can only view the draft. Maybe you can try this workaround to share the view rights for forms drafts.

In your case, I would suggest using a user task: 1st manager complete his comments (User Task 1), the reassign the user task (with the option "Keep existing draft selected") to nest manager to complete the form and submit it. So that the managers can share the comments between each other.

Let me know if this is the case or you have more questions.

Hi, Ming, the first email setting goes well, however, the 2nd , 3rd ones get error message:
If the exclusive Gateway has taken care of the email task, do I still need to assign a email Service tasks?  Actually, there is not reassign option in the User Tasks. Whenever, I select Assign to team or user , there is no Reassign option

OK, Ming,

found another issue, at the Message Start Event,  in General, it shows Submit button label "Submit" before "save as draft" does that is the problem? Please check the attachment.  And how can I set "Save as Draft" first ?

And I assign all the managers and directors as Process Admin like myself.  There are nothing changes.

Thanks!

Helen, I will reiterate: At this point you should reach out to your reseller for additional training and troubleshooting assistance. This is not an appropriate place for such in-depth troubleshooting. If your reseller is unable to identify a solution, then as Ming has suggested they can open a support case and we can look at the specific process(es), etc in greater detail.
