Question

When using Snapshot to print into Laserfiche Client, no pages are generated

asked on December 6, 2016

Hello,

I have a user who was having no issues with using Snapshot to print into LF. Now when they Snapshot a PDF into LF, they get no errors but no pages have been generated. When we browse to the document, under the page count column it shows as 0. The user is on version 8.1.2.681. They are using Adobe DC and this does not happen with .TIFF documents when they are Snapshot into LF. Has anyone seen this before?

Does the document go into the print queue?
Go to Start, Settings, Printers, then right-click on the Snapshot Printer and go to the Advanced tab. Select "Print directly to printer instead" of "Spool print documents then try printing again

Hi Raymond,

I will have the user test and update this forum if it works.

Thank!

Hi Raymond,

Looks like that did the trick. Why though does the issue happen when Snapshot Printer properties is set to "Spool print documents then try printing again"?

Thanks!

The issue is with the Print spooler, not Snapshot.  The setting bypasses it.

Hey Raymond,

Had a customer try this process and they are getting the following error:

Printer Settings could not be saved: Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000070c)

I am not sure if you have had other users come across this error.

I did a Google search and most post point to reinstalling the drivers.

This customer has tried repair/uninstall-reinstall with no luck.

Anything else you can think of for this?

Thanks,
Jeff

Note that this itself is not a LF issue but an OS one. The user needs rights to the print spooler.

Turn off UAC, reboot then apply

1. Log in using administrative rights
2. Go to the desired printer
3. Security settings tab : everyone (FULL rights)
Then try changing the Snapshot spool settings again.
