Question

snapshot stuck deleting a print job

asked on October 7, 2016

A Laserfiche 9.2 Snapshot user (Snapshot version number 13.77.558)

A print job started but didn't complete and now the job is stuck in the windows print queue for Snapshot. The user attempted to cancel the print job from the windows print queue manager and now the status is Deleting however even after reboots the job is still there. Further snapshot jobs just queue up behind it. Is there a solution besides deleting the snapshot printer and reinstalling snapshot? (which is suspect will be difficult if there's already a print job still hanging there)

Snapshot was working fine on this windows 10 client until today.

You could try to restart the Print Spooler service. Hopefully that will clear the queue.

I have this same issue but how do I get to the Print Spooler?

This will vary by your Windows version so you might want to Google this but if you're on Windows 10 you can right click Start, click Computer Management, expand Services and Applications Node, then click Services. That will get you to the list where the screenshot is showing above. Double click Printer Spooler and you will see controls to Stop and Start.

Any other remedies for this issue? The print spooler move did not work and has not worked the last 3-4 times we have seen this happen. The only resolution we are able to use it uninstalling and reinstalling snapshot.

I haven't seen this happen since v9. Are you using latest version?

I am not exactly sure the version. Not sure when the latest version came out but we have one unit that is using everything Laserfiche 10.3 and another using v.10.4. If that answers the question.

Yeah, I don't have any further advice, sorry. Maybe might be time to open a case with your reseller?
