Question

error 6720 when importing PDF

asked on October 4, 2016 Show version history

I have a customer trying to drag & drop PDFs into Laserfiche.  This is in both the Web client & the hard client.  The specific error & verbiage is:

Error Code: 6720

Error Message: Failed to import new document.

Could not create required control. [6720]

I've checked her access & she has access to the specific folder/path.

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Karen,

Seems a few people have had this recently. It was mentioned here - https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/61277/Receiving-error-%E2%80%9CCould-not-create-required-control-6720-when-trying-to-email-document-from-client-903798--

Have you tried running a repair of the Laserfiche client? Also what version of Laserfiche are you using and is this isolated to a single workstation or is this issue present for all users?

the customer is running a 8.2 hard client & I believe the web client is 9.2 (we're in a shared service environment & not all hard clients have been upgraded).  As far as I know she is the only one having the issue.  No one else has brought it to my attention.  Also, I do not have the ability to run a repair of the LF client.

well, the hard client might be 'old' - but the web client is 9.2 & she gets the error in both places.  So, I don't think it is related to the version.

If the issue is isolated to PDF's I would also check that your adobe reader is updated the latest version.
