Question

Standard folder under record series

asked on August 18, 2016

We currently have a Laserfiche 9.2 repository (upgraded from 8.0) with Record Series folders having standard folders as immediate child folders instead of record folders. Recently, we added a new folder under one of the record series folders and as expected, the new folder was created as a record folder. Do you have an explanation as to why the previous folders were created as regular folders instead of as record folders? Please refer to the attached file.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Only record folders or record series are allowed as immediate children of a record series. There was a bug in older versions of Laserfiche that mistakenly allowed creating folders in the root of a record series.

Hello,

We are experiencing regular folders being created under Record Folders in Laserfiche.

Using LF 10.4 with Workflow and Records Management.

We ran our Clerk Filing Workflow to file some ICRMP documents.

The “Move Entry to ICRMP folder” uses the following Destination:

\.Archives\CITY CLERK\CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE\ICRMP\%(RetrieveFieldValuesGeneralTemplate_Date#"yyyy"#)

The year folder that is generated in the ICRMP Records Folder appears to be a regular folder and not a Records Folder .

However, when I right click on the regular folder “Record Properties” is there as an option.

Click on it and the “Record Folder Properties” window is displayed with the Records Folder icon for the 2017 folder, and it appears retention can be applied to this folder.

Are these “Record Folders” with a “regular” folder icon?

Any ideas on how we can get the “Record Folder” to appear in the Parent Record Folder instead of the Regular folder?

Thanks in advance.

Christine
