1st repository creation : error 9029 - the maximum number of repositories has been reached

asked on October 14, 2014

Hello,

I try to install Laserfiche on a Toshiba Tablet (OS : Win8.1 Pro) and have a lot of troubles. The last is when I try to create my repository, I use the wizard to set it up but at the last step after the wizard resume properties of the repository I get an error message : "The Laserfiche server encountered an error when trying ti create or attach the repository: 9029 - The maximum number of repositories that this server instance is licensed for has been reached".

I don't have repository yet, it is the first that I try to create. I have reboot the tablet but I still get the same message.

Is someone already get this issue ?

Regards.

It's possible that your Laserfiche server failed to validate its license properly. When the server service starts up, it attempts to contact Laserfiche to verify your license file. I've seen this error happen sometimes when you start the Laserfiche server service on a computer that is disconnected from the internet.

Open up the admin console, log in to your server, then left click on your server name. If it states "Maximum Repositories allowed: 0" in addition to some of the other information being wrong... then you should verify your server computer has a functioning internet connection and try restarting the service.

The issue could be that your Laserfiche Server isn't licensed correctly. Restart the Laserfiche Server service and then check the application event log to see if there are any licensing related errors occurring during server startup.

Alexander, I've tried to restart the Laserfiche Server Service and look at the event log right after, but I don't have any new event.

On the other hand, when I try to create my repository I have a new event with the same message that the error message :"Repository creation error. The maximum number of repositories that this server instance is licensed for has been reached."

Scott, in the admin console the maximum repositories allowed value is 15. I have a functionning internet connection and tried to restart the service and the tablets, nothing change.

Please open a case with Laserfiche Support so we can further troubleshoot the matter. We'll need a copy of the actual license file (lf.licx) located in the Laserfiche Server program files folder. If you can also provide a copy of the application event log (as an .evtx file) along with a screenshot showing the Laserfiche Server properties as displayed in the desktop Laserfiche Administration Console, that would be helpful.

any resolution to this as I'm having the exact same issue on installing the VAR kit on a VM machine?

Fearghal,

Your situation is different than the original poster's. Your VAR Kit LSAP has expired so your VAR Kit Laserfiche Server license is now invalid. You'll need to renew LSAP and then re-activate your VAR Kit server to get an updated license with a new expiration date. Then your system should run properly and allow you to create a repository.

The application event log on the Laserfiche Server computer may have contained this detail.

This is expected behavior. The maximum number of repositories supported on a single server is 15. You are licensed for Rio, so you can have multiple server if more than 15 repositories are necessary.
