Question

How to re-assign tasks without being a process admin in Cloud?

asked on December 28, 2023

Is there a way to re-assign tasks without having to give the user process admin rights in Cloud? Currently the user must release the task back to the team for someone else to pick it up. I tried giving certain team members the Team Manager right, but this didn't seem to work. The only thing I was able to do was give them the Process Administrator rights, but this seems like a powerful right for something as simple as being able to re-assign a task?

In Self-hosted v11, Business Managers of the process can also reassign tasks:

  • The Business Manager can start processes; see its results, view, create, edit, and share reports; take snapshots; edit process instance names; cancel process instances; and complete and reassign tasks. Business managers cannot design processes or delete instances.

Hi All,

We have recently updated the Team Analyst role to also be able to re-assign the task of a process (that belongs to that team) as they're also able to see the underlying data. Please apply this role to any users or managers that may need to do any re-assignments.

Let me know if there are any questions! Thanks.

Hi Tesia,

I currently am trying to get it to work on the web. I have tested this with two test accounts who have participant licenses and the Analyst team role inside Teams.

On the Laserfiche IOS app, it works.
Steps in IOS:
The ability to go to an assigned Team Task, tap on the 3 dots, tap Reassign to yourself gives error:
You are not authorized to perform this action. [LFF9-NoAuthorityAction]: task name

The ability to tap Release, Confirm "Release back to team name?" Tap Ok Says in a green banner "the task was successfully released" and disappears. You can then assign yourself the task you released from someone else.

On the web, if I try to reassign or release the assigned team task, it doesn't give the the options that the IOS app does.

Why does it work on mobile and not on the web?
