Question

Installing LF11

asked on March 9, 2023

Hi, I'm installing LF 11 without a directory server. My question is how do I designate the licenses to create the repository if I don't have LFDS? because it won't let me create the repository even though the Laserfiche Server is already active attached screenshots

The error is not referring to LFDS. The most common reason for it is that you are trying to use a full SQL edition with a Laserfiche Server only licensed for SQL Express.

It is correct, I have a version of sql with a complete 2016 license, so that means that I need an express SQL, can it be a 2014 version if I install Laserfiche 11? is my question

According to this if you're using SQL 2014 it should be SP3 or above

Supported OS List (versions 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) - Knowledge Base (laserfiche.com)

I know that Avante's licensing is for SQL Express or SQL Full, you'd need to look at the license to see how it was licensed.

I'm not sure if Rio can run on SQL Express or if it is SQL Full only.

It depends on your license. Both Avante and Rio need to be licensed for full SQL. I believe it's included by default in Rio, but it's an add-on in Avante.

The server in your screenshot above is not licensed for SQL. If it was, it would say "MSSQL" in the list under "Caracteristicas" ("features"). So it can only use SQL Express. It can be SQL Express 2014 SP3, but I would strongly recommend a newer version.
