Question

Global Search/Global Saved Search

asked on December 20, 2016

I'm trying to create a global saved search, preset search conditions that all of our users will be able to use.

A previous admin was able to create these global saved searches, but failed to pass that knowledge on before leaving.

I've had no luck at all even finding reference to global searches in the Web Access or answers.laserfiche.com site.

Thanks for any help.

To make a search available to all users, you add the user attribute for that search to the Everyone group.

The [Global] designation is just part of the name your former admin specified; this isn't the name of a specific feature in Laserfiche.

This previous post talks about how to do this for custom quick searches; the procedure is very similar. The basics steps are (1) Save your search on your user (2) find that search in your user attributes and (3) copy over that attribute to the Everyone group attributes.
