Task Email Notifications in V10

asked on June 12, 2016

In version 10, you cannot assign a task to more than one person at a time. If more that one person is assigned, the task is made "available" for the users but one of them must click "Assign to me" to actually complete the task. Makes sense.

In version 9, the task was assigned to everyone that was in the assignment list, and with this every user can be notified via email. This was a "nice to have" as sometimes users would say "I never got the assignment email", so as admin we included an admin  user on all of the assignment just to get a copy of the email notification.

Does anyone know a way this can be done in Forms 10..allow a user to be exclusively assigned to a task, so that they don't have to click "Assign to Me"  but also allow another user(s) to receive a copy of the email notification for the assignment?

I've looked at using team filter and roles, and so far, no luck.

Thanks!

You can add a email service task in parallel as the user task to notify the admin that a task is assigned.

Thanks. One benefit of the duplicate emails that were received is that the admin can forward it to the users if they "lost" the email message as it contains the direct link to the task assignment. I know the users can simply log into Forms and check their to do's, but...

Any ideas on how to recreate this if I create a parallel service task?

It's currently not supported. Email service task is not able to know the link for the user task.  We have added sending notification emails as record to the feature requests list

Any update on this? I'd like to BCC an email box for all these task assignment emails for a similar reason. Its very helpful in troubleshooting. I do this for all my workflow emails as well.
