Scanner module crashes everytime I use grayscale

asked on June 9, 2016 Show version history

I have a windows 7 professional computer, am using LF Client 8.1 and Scan Connect 8 with a Kodak i1320 scanner.  When I use any scan configuration that has grayscale (including selecting from the drop down menu), laserfiche reports that the scanning module has stopped working and the only way to get out of the scan module is by ending the process in task manager.  Please help!

Unfortunately the biggest suggestion for this is to upgrade to the most recent version of the client. However while I know the 10.x client will work with older versions of laserfiche, I'm not sure it will work all the way back through 8.x.

So I would start by making sure you have the latest Kodak drivers first: http://www.kodakalaris.com/en-us/b2b/products/document-scanners/departmental/i1320-scanner

With Scan Connect I believe you have access to the ISIS drivers along with the Twain Drivers. I would obviously try the ISIS drivers first, but if you are running into this issue and you can't update your lf client anytime soon I'd try switching to the Twain driver to see if it happens.

In the smaller throughput scanners Twain usually works at at least 90% of the speed of ISIS so it usually doesn't make that much difference in throughput. Obviously this is different with high throughput scanners.

Good Luck!
