Forms Field Rules and Lookup Rules feature request

posted on June 7, 2016

Field Rules Feature Request

I would find it useful if Forms Field Rules could Hide/Show Fields based on the Stage of the Process. This would limit the requirement to create multiple Forms to be assigned to each task when trying to limit the information users at different stages can see or should have access to.

Also, the ability to assign Variables values as an action item. Currently have to use WF callout to assign simple values when it would be easier if it was an action item that could be assigned as part of the process diagram. I typically use these variables in conjunction with Field rules.

Lookup Rules

Have the ability to have a lookup up condition that can be based on a static value as part of the lookup as opposed to always having to match fields.

ie: when DB status field = "new" and when part number (in form) = part number (in DB), fill field 1 with DB info 1. It would just be easier at times if the Data Query had more flexibility such as what's in LF WF.

Show/hide or enable/disable fields using field rules based on process step or process stage is supported in new form designer with Forms 11 Update 3.

You can see other changes of Forms 11 Update 3 from  https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1014413/list-of-changes-for-laserfiche-forms-11-update-3 and get Forms 11 Update 3 from Laserfiche 11 package  https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1014263/software-versions-and-fixes-included-in-the-laserfiche-11-download-package.

I would also find these features handy--especially the ability to use the Stage of the process in Field Rules. Some of the same functionality could be achieved by allowing variables as conditions in Field Rules like so:

In this example, I would like to show a field if the Current User matches the process Initiator. As the original poster said, this would allow me to recycle forms that are mostly similar, but which have a few differences based on who is viewing them (or which stage the process is in).
