An unhandled exception error will be thrown in WebLink if a user tries to view a document which has a document relationship, and that use does not have permission to view the related document.

This has been tested to be fixed in our coming release of WebLink which is tentatively slated to be released Q4 of 2017.

Is this fix in version 10.2.1 and also in 10.3?

Hello Jeff,

This has been addressed in latest release of WebLink 10.0.0.915. There is currently no WebLink 10.2.1 and 10.3.

Upgrading from Weblink 9 to Weblink 10

We have a customer who would like to upgrade to Weblink 10. Their current weblink page has a lot of built in customization for the look and feel.

Is there any guidance on how to go about an upgrade with Customization, so they can keep the look in feel in tact without having to recreate the look.

Nuclear Workaround

Since we were not concerned about showing the relationship status of documents and the provided possible workarounds didn't work for us, the only way I found to actually get the document to display was to completely remove the following line from DocView.aspx

<weblink:relationshipdisplay8 id="TheRelationshipDisplay" runat="server"/>

It was more important for us to have the documents that were affected display than having errors popping up.

Thanks for this! One of my City customers has also been struggling with this issue. We removed (commented out) the line you posted and that showed the documents, but the links were not being displayed.

Like you, they felt that was better than not displaying the documents at all, but they are look for a fix/resolution from Laserfiche for this.

"Reverse" Relationships

Hi Carl,

What is the "direction" of the link relationship to the other document? In particular, is the relationship of the type configured as the "reverse" direction in the Laserfiche administration console? (e.g. "Message" as opposed to "Attachment", or "Superseded by" as opposed to "Supersedes")

If so, this is a known issue (SCR 139592) and actually this kind of relationship can cause various annoyances in other products like the desktop Client and Web Access (SCR 140055) but none quite like in WebLink. The development teams are still looking into this. The workaround would be to use a different document relationship where the "direction" is reversed, so you are not using the "reverse" relationship.

(I realize the description above can be a little convoluted, if I'm not making any sense please let me know...)

Yes, I've tried creating a different relationship, reversing the two.

To clarify, the original relationship is an "AP Report", with the reverse of "Voucher". One AP Report containing many Vouchers. I created another relationship of "Voucher" with a reverse of "AP report", updated the two documents accordingly, and it still didn't work.
