Question

Change option to auto-open document on search

asked on June 2, 2016 Show version history

It seems when I do a search and it only finds one entry in the search results, the document is automatically opened.  This would not be too bad if it opened in a new tab but is opens in the same tab (which seems strange to me since this is different behavior then when you click on the document link).

Is there a way to control this so it either opens in a new tab or does not auto-open the document at all?

I am using Web Access v10.1

In the meantime, you can disable the one result automatic-opening behavior by adding the [Search]OpenIfOneResult attribute to the Everyone group as a bool and setting it to FALSE.

Hi Gene,

Yes, currently Web Access 10.1 will open entries in the same tab if only one result is returned. We'll look into changing the default to opening the entry in a new tab, and possibly making the behavior configurable in a future release (SCR144981 for your reference).

Hi Gene,

We've changed the default behavior for searches based off your suggestion. Entries will now default to opening in a new tab if one result is returned. The fix is included in the recently released Web Access 10.1 Update 1, which you can download from the support site, here
