Directory Server 10.0 Showing 10.1 Application Instance Versions as 10.0

asked on June 1, 2016

We recently upgraded a customer from License Manager 8.3 to Directory Server 10.0 and upgraded their DEV servers from Laserfiche/Forms/WebAccess/Workflow 9.2 to 10.1.  The applications are all working correctly however the version it shows in DSS does not match the actual version in use.  It shows that Laserfiche/Forms/WebAccess are all on 10.0 when they are in fact on 10.1.  Not a big deal but I wanted to see if anyone else had noticed this or if there DSS was reporting correctly.

Here is a shot of DSS showing this issue for Laserfiche Server (looks the same for Forms & WebAccess):

Here is the version info for the DEV Laserfiche server:

That's the version specified in the license not the version of the software.

The master license specified a maximum version allowed (determined based on the latest released software and valid LSAP at the time the master license is downloaded). If you install the LFServer and activate it in the installer, it will request a license matching the installer version. So 9.2 installer will register the machine as having 9.2.

Now, as of LF 10, the minor versions are no longer checked in the installer. So a 10.1 server will work with a 10.0 license as well. The installers no longer requests an updated minor version in the license so upgrades are easier on the user.

That's fine. It shows the maximum version allowed by the master license. It has nothing to do with the actual version of the software you're currently running on the servers.

Edit: the individual servers show the version that was assigned to them at the time the license was generated.

But these went straight from 9.2 to 10.1 so the license for them was never 10.0.  They show 10.1 within the actual applications, but DSS shows they are on version 10.0.  This seems like a bug as the older servers correctly show the point version they are on (9.2 and not 9.0) but the 10.1 servers do not show the correct point version.

I see, so this is no longer showing what minor version they are actually running, just what major version they are licensed for on each install.  It would be nice if it showed the actual minor version they were running since it is showing each individual servers install anyways, as that would make it a ton easier for the end user to quickly provide the info regarding which version they are running of the various modules.  Thanks for the info!
