Webaccess long loading

asked on May 20, 2016 Show version history

Hello,

I have one of my customer using LF 8.3.1 and Web Access that have very long loading time. When a user logon on web access after the authentication step there is loading to display the UI (2 or 3 minute), then if he try to open a folder in the tree structure he get another loading sometimes it can take 5 minute just to display the sub-folderin the tree structure. When he open a file same thing like 3 or 4 minutes loading then UI display but the file preview not, he need to wait  the same time just to get the preview displayed.

We have tried with the LF Client there is no loading times but it is just temporary because we can't install the LF Client on each computer.

The server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.

Does anybody had the same issues before ?

Regards.

You've isolated the issue to being with IIS or WebAccess. Have you tried going to the IIS default page? It will probably work fine, but it's a quick and easy test to see if IIS itself is having major issues.

Is there anything showing up in the Event Viewer from Laserfiche Web Access or IIS?

Here is an article on diagnosing IIS hangs that should be helpful.

For delays that long, I would guess that there is something impeding one of the network connections.  If you look in the IIS logs on the Web Access machine, it will tell you how long it took to handle the request on the server side.  If that value is lower than what you are seeing, it means it's taking a long time to get the data to the browser.  Otherwise, there is probably something slowing the communication between WA and LFS.  Is there some kind of firewall between them?  Is there an anti-virus tool that's scanning the data?
