Question

Using weboffice in iframe in Forms 10.1

asked on May 20, 2016

I would like to be able to launch WebOffice from an iFrame in Forms 10.1
I have the iFrame created and it displays a Word document in a webaccess window.
When I click on the Word document, it gives me to option to Edit or View, I choose View and it tells me to install Office Integration which I have done, as well as the Chrome Extension listed in KB displayed.

I have rebooted the Windows 7 PC where this is all installed, including MS Office 2013, but I get the same result each time when I click on the document. See Attached

Ideas?

Hi Steve,

To clarify, are you trying to launch an Office document using the Office Integration? Or are you trying to open the Office document in the document viewer (using Office Web Apps Server, an external server provided by Microsoft)?

If it's former, the issue is that Web Access cannot detect the Chrome Extension from within an iFrame. This is an issue we're aware of (SCR135152 for your reference) and we're working to resolve it in a future release.

As a workaround in the meantime, users can download the Office file, view or edit it locally, then re-import and replace the original file ( or import as a new version).
