Question

I deleted a variable used in the instance name

asked on May 19, 2016

So, apparently, I used the variable "Name_" as part of my instance name. I then deleted that variable because it wasn't working properly and didn't really need it. The instance name is still using it even though it no longer exists, thus terminating my tasks. How can I remove "Name_" as part of the instance name?

Gloria,

Go under the Process Modeler for that forms process, and click the icon with the wrench (Process Settings).  It allows you to set how you want the instance names called.  You can remove that variable there from the name.

BTW, I've tried recreating the field, adding it to the instance name, and saving. Then removing it from being added to the instance name and saving. Still have issues!

Another thing to note, when I first created that field, it was part of a collection. I've also removed the collection.

Please tell me I don't have to recreate everything from scratch!

Thanks!

What issues you are having? How do you know instance name is still being used?

I noticed it when I was trying to troubleshoot a suspended process. It's actually fixed now. I deleted and replaced the Start function. Seemed to solve the issue. My business process goes from beginning to end successfully and the invalid field no longer shows up.

Thanks!

OK, thought the issue was fixed. Nope. This field/value no longer exists, yet it's showing up in my instance name. How do I get this removed?

Thank you! That worked.
