Feature Request: shortcut to a website

asked on May 19, 2016 Show version history

Hello,
I have some users who need to add shortcuts to web site and now they can add them with drag and drop from the IE URL but this way it create a .website. Ideally, the extension should have been .url so the double-click opens the link directly in the browser.
I also noticed that the drag and drop from other browser does not work. Is it possible to add this feature to all browser and to change the extension to .url?

Thank you

I'm not really sure how this applies to Laserfiche. Creating shortcuts is a browser feature, it does not have anything to do with the content of the page. As of IE9, dragging the site's icon to the desktop creates a "pinned site" link. The browser creates the file and assigns the extension. See this Microsoft article on how to create a .URL shortcut.
